I work for Alzheimer's Disease International & have met Jenny and Don twice. I used to live in a village in Cambridgeshire, near where Jenny is from in the UK. I work to inspire Alzheimer associations to work more closely with people with dementia e.g. developing appropriate services & creating opportunities to speak out and effect change for the better.
Hi Helen
I've just joined the group & I'm based in the midlands.
If you'd like to know more about the aromatherapy programme for Alzheimer's i'd love to share what has been acheived & research studies that have been carried out.
I have worked with a few support groups & admire the work that they & you are doing, a very worthwhile job.
Helen
Thank you for your help in increasing awareness and, hopefully, more research and treatment modalities for Alzheimer's. As a person who was diagnosed at 53, I am truly grateful to all those who work to address this condition. Awareness is getting better, and I am hopeful that people like you will make this trend blossom exponentially. People do not understand the early onset variety - for example, my employer fired me as they considered my memory issue a performance issue and not a medical one - and I worked for a rather large hospital.
